Window Blinds Varieties and Designs
Most people think that window blinds are a recent invention. This is misguided information. Window blinds have been in play for a very long time. From ancient Rome to China and all around the globe. However, by then, each had their own windows for putting the blinds on their windows. Today, it is the same case as one person’s use for window blinds is different from the other.
Other than providing shade, window blinds offer privacy. They can be translucent or opaque, but never colorless. If one needs to separate from the outside, they just pull the blinds down and get their peace. Through the window blinds, one can change the temperature of the room accordingly. By manipulating the air traffic, the temperature is kept in check.
Window blinds also beautify our rooms. The owner has to choose a color and design that will fit the room perfectly for the many varieties that are there. Their color and style add a pleasant flavor to the room. Unwanted elements like dirt, dust, wind, insects, strong sunlight, and the like can be kept at bay by window blinds.
Different types of window blinds have their own different origins. The different window blinds that exist differ from each other through their designs For example, consider window blinds that have preloaded springs or chains that can be used to fold the non-solid fabric or material accordingly. They are referred to as Roller Blinds. There is a lightweight aluminum cylinder fitted instead of slats. It makes the material to wrap up when the blinds are raised.
Vertical Blinds follow. The name tells it all as the slats hang from the top to bottom. Different material can be used to make the slats. Vertical Blinds are perfect for fitting sliding doors and large windows.
When pulled, there are window blinds that stack into neat horizontal pleats. Fabrics are used to manufacture these blinds. They offer a sense of warmth inside the room they are installed in. These are therefore more suitable in those cold areas or during the cold season. These are known as the Roman Blinds.
There are window blinds without fabrics but have horizontal slats. Light is allowed to pass by rotating the slats. Venetian Blinds fits this description. One advantage of these blinds is that the amount of light entering the room can be easily regulated.
Other blinds exist that can be installed either in open space or in windows. When installed in huge rooms, they act as temporary walls separating huge spaces. These are known as Panel Blinds. These are fitted on a horizontal moving track system. The material moves either to the left or to the right through the aids of panels that make them fold just like vertical blinds.
